My Biggest Inspiration...
For me, I can't say I am inspired by just one person. There are different aspects I admire in different people.
I am inspired by the dedication of my teammates, competitors, and the selflessness of our coaches who volunteer their time to see us become better versions of ourselves.
Aside from just inspiration, one of my biggest role models would have to be Jessie Diggins. Not only is she a committed athlete, but also a fun and cheerful person who enjoys what she does.

How it happened...
Ever since I could walk, I have been xc-skiing. Although I've been racing ever since I was little, I didn't start taking it seriously until a few years ago when I decided to join the Track Attack program at Otway Nordics. From there I moved onto Junior Racers where I was coached under Graeme Moore. For me, xc-skiing eventually got to the point that it was no longer fun and instead became a chore; so in 2017 after the XC-Ski National Championships I chose to switch my focus to biathlon. In his prime, my dad was an excellent biathlete and with his help as well as other talented coaches, like Jim Connon and Bobby Kreitz, I was able to quickly pick up shooting to start training full-time with the other senior athletes. |
This 2018 racing season was a steep learning curve filled with its high and low lights but in the end turned out successful when I qualified to race at the Biathlon National Championships in Charlo, NB. Shortly after Nationals I also was asked to join the Biathlon BC Development Squad.
This season has been amazing and has brought my passion for the sport back into the light; I look forward to racing in the 2018/19 season...
